Expo Estádio 2011 doubles its number of visitors
Estimate foresees 50% growth in 2012
The third edition of Expo Estádio ended Thursday November 24, with a record number of visitors and corporate exhibitors. This year’s event saw a 100% increase in the number of visitors and the organizer estimates the trade fair will grow 50% in 2012. The event received 5,000 visitors during the three days and is the biggest trade fair in Latin America that focuses exclusively on the infrastructure market for stadiums, fitness centers, swimming pools, sports fields and other sports installations. Expo Estádio was held at the Blue Pavilion of the Expo Center Norte exhibition hall, in São Paulo, Brazil.
Motivated by infrastructure investments in preparation for the 2014 World Cup, Expo Estádio united 200 companies, 30% of which were foreign, based in countries such as Germany, Argentina, Canada, Colombia, China, Croatia, Spain, United States, France, Italy, South Korea and Taiwan. Estimates indicate that the event generated at least R$40 million in business. Many contacts were made and many more negotiations will be concluded in the following months.
Visitors were able to explore many novelties, such as covering systems for stadiums and a state-of-the-art sound system with speakers the size of a mobile phone. “Expo Estádio 2011 brought together the most significant national and international players of the segments to which they devote themselves, turning into an arena of negotiations in this very important period of decisions with regards to the 2014 World Cup and the Olympics in 2016. “Our participation was very productive, resulting in a large number of contacts with decision makers and partners”, said Nilton Corazza, Director of marketing and Communication of Telem.
The event also presented various seating solutions for stadiums that complied with the modern concepts of sustainability. One of the highlights was the launch by Marfinite Arenas, a manufacturer of stadium bleachers produced with recyclable plastic, in the presence of Brazilian soccer player Ronaldo, who discussed the country’s preparations for the 2014 World Cup. In addition to his presentation, the former star player also autographed several Brazilian soccer shirts as a gift to trade fair visitors. “We from Marfinite Arenas are very pleased to have exhibited at Expo Estádio 2011, the largest fair focused on infrastructure and equipment for stadiums and sports facilities. At the event, we officially launched a new brand dedicated to the manufacturing of chairs, which is in the race for World Cup 2014. Congratulations to the Organization, and the attention given to us by the Real Alliance team”, said Silvia Cadeville from Marfinite.
The Expo Estádio event brought together buyers from the private and public sector with the industry's main suppliers of products and services. According to Sebas Van Den Ende, director of Real Alliance, organizer of the event, "The Brazilian economy is going through a very positive phase, largely because of the expectations that have been generated by the upcoming World Cup and Olympic Games. Sports installations are an important issue right now and one of the reasons for the success of Expo Estádio 2011."
Van den Ende confirms, "We are very proud of this year's results, especially in terms of the quality of visitors. The exhibitors are very satisfied, and many of them have already confirmed their participation in 2012." This satisfaction from exhibitors is for example well expressed by José Antonio Pérez from SMG, “It was our first time at the Expo Estádio, but it will be certainly not the last. We had the chance to participate in a professional organized trade show and could meet many potential customers for our artificial grass maintenance equipments.
The next edition of Expo Estádio has been scheduled for November 21-23, 2012, at Expo Center Norte, in São Paulo.
Expo Estádio is held concurrently with TranspoQuip Latin America, the main transportation infrastructure event that unites suppliers and buyers of equipment and services for highways, railways, stations, ports, waterways and airports in Latin America. These events take place at the same time as Expo Esporte, Expo Parking, Expo Urbano, Expo Airport and Latin Port Business.
